Who we are
Star4books is the music-services, booking and beat-licensing platform operated by Star Jay / Divine Records Worldwide in Nigeria. For this policy, “Star4books”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that operation. Questions and data-rights requests may be sent to info@star4books.com.
Information we collect
- Identity and account details, including your name, email address, username, profile image, WhatsApp number, backup email and account purpose.
- Booking and project details, including service selections, schedules, locations, logistics, communications, uploaded documents and delivery records.
- Beat-licence and order details, including licensee identity, artist/project information, agreement acceptance, payment status, release reporting and download records.
- Support conversations with Mimi and human representatives, including messages, attachments, escalation status and responses.
- Technical and security information such as authenticated-user details, IP-derived security signals, device/browser information, request logs and fraud-prevention records.
- Optional public links you provide, including Spotify or other artist/profile URLs. We do not store your full payment-card details.
Why we use information
- To create and secure accounts; provide dashboards; process bookings, licences, payments and deliveries; and perform our contract with you.
- To verify transactions, prevent duplicate or unauthorised purchases, protect private files, detect abuse and maintain platform security.
- To communicate about bookings, project stages, payment, delivery, support, complaints and service changes.
- To improve Star4books, understand performance, maintain records, comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection and other legal obligations, and establish or defend legal claims.
- Where consent is the appropriate basis, to process optional profile information, non-essential communications or similar activities. You may withdraw consent, but earlier lawful processing remains valid.
How information is shared
We share information only as needed to operate Star4books, protect users or comply with law. Recipients may include infrastructure and storage providers, ChatGPT sign-in services, Paystack for payment processing, Resend or another configured email-delivery provider, Spotify when you use Spotify features, professional advisers, regulators and law-enforcement bodies where legally required.
- Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.
- We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.
- Where information is processed outside Nigeria, we use appropriate contractual, organisational or legal safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
Mimi and automated support
Mimi uses automated systems to answer questions about Star4books and may analyse the messages you choose to send. Conversations may be transferred to a human administrator when the request needs judgement, account access or a complaint response. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers or unrelated highly sensitive information in support chat.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, contractual and licence records, dispute handling, fraud prevention and legal or accounting obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. We use access controls, private storage, limited-use download links, request validation, audit records and other technical and organisational safeguards. No online system is completely risk-free, so users should also secure their accounts and devices.
Your choices and rights
Subject to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability where applicable, information about processing, withdrawal of consent and review of certain automated decisions. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security or contractual reasons. We will verify identity before acting on a request.

Children and changes
Star4books is not designed for children under 13. A person under 18 should use paid services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who can enter the relevant agreement. We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. Material changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, communicated through the account or email.
